Lovely bed and breakfast in a beautiful setting. Don't miss a walk on Cadair Idris and the less challenging Precipice walk, with stunning views over the Mawddach Estuary. The George at Penmeanpool must have one of the best pub views in the country, and serves a mean pint of locally brewed beer. We were lucky enough to catch the Sunday morning Farmers Market and bought some local cheeses and beautiful slate table-mats.

Finding a hotel in Snowdonia was harder than I thought. Everywhere was so chintzy and overpriced. But thank goodness for Mr and Mrs Smith for finding Ffynnon. This is the hotel that really does think of everything. Every little detail was fantastic and the rooms are amazing. Key things to remember our your walking boots and clothes. Steve from the hotel guided us to a fantastic walk up Cedri Idris (hope I spelt that right) - beautiful. Dolgellau is very cute and we had a gorgeous meal at Y Sospan, a restaurant that lets the food do the talking

Try the local Indian restaurant. The interior really needs to be viewed wearing dark glasses as it's rather bright, but the food is delicious.

For dinner overlooking Cadir Idris about 5 minutes away from Ffynnon is Bwyty Mawddach (+44 (0)1341 424020). Great service, excellent menu and really reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
