Getting there
A million acres in size, El Questro lies in the Kimberley region of Far North-Western Australia.
- Planes There are regular flights from all major Australian capital cities to Kununurra Airport via Perth or Darwin with Qantas (www.qantas.com.au; 13 13 13), Air North (www.airnorth.com.au; 1800 627 474) or Sky West (www.skywest.com.au; 1300 66 0088). The drive from Kununurra to the Homestead is 110km and takes two hours. Transfers can be arranged by El Questro for a cost.
- Automobiles A selection of car hire companies are available at Kununurra Airport (www.kununurraairportcarhire.com.au). El Questro is situated in the East Kimberley, 110km west of Kununurra by road - 58km on the sealed Great Northern Highway towards Wyndham, the remainder on the unsealed and corrugated gravel Gibb River Road – so opting for a 4WD is highly recommended.
