The Guestbook
Fabulous place – a home-from-home feel, not a hotel feel at all nor any intrusive feelings one gets at many BBs. This group has mastered hospitality. A very warm welcome indeed, with a few extra touches. I was impressed with the size of my small room, very spacious. For a hotel that is superbly located in the heart of Soho, I was amazed at how quiet it was. I slept like a baby. In fact, I loved it so much I have booked ahead to celebrate my anniversary. Can't wait to explore more of the other Soho House hotels.

This hotel absolutely lives up to its reputation. It is as described as a soothing, country-style bolthole right in the heart of London's finest retail, cultural drinking and eating experiences. A 'small' room is still quite generously sized and made for an extremely comfortable one-night stay. Whilst the hotel bar is a lovely place for a drink (quiet but still buzzy on a Sunday night), for a proper pint we liked the Dog & Duck on Bateman Street, about a minute's walk away from the hotel and, further down Dean St, the legendary French House which is great for wine and continental lager for those who like it. We were looking for a memorable meal on a Sunday night and many of the Soho options were closed, otherwise we might have tried Quo Vadis almost opposite and with new interest caused by the arrival of the much loved chef Jeremy Lee. We'd booked Corrigans in Mayfair, a 15–20 minute walk away. The food was beautiful: lots of fantastic game and seafood in a sort of 'refined comfort food' style. It was very quiet but still romantic and intimate. I'd definitely stay at Dean Street Townhouse again and I'd like to try the food in the restaurant next time – the evening menu looked good and brunch was lovely.

Dean Street Townhouse is exactly what I have come to expect from Nick Jones' Soho House Group: chic, eclectic, buzzy, friendly and fabulous. From the minute I checked in all the staff were super-friendly and efficient – the hotel had a warm glow about it. Arrived well before check-in time and went to Wahaca in Covent Garden: superb Mexican street food, reasonably priced. When I got back to the hotel we were taken to our room where our bags awaited. The room was beautiful and stylish with a gorgeous signature Soho House white tiled bathroom with a glorious walk-in shower with all the Cowshed products one could wish to use. Little extras like fresh cookies and fresh milk in the minibar to make tea and coffee with were fabulous. Cocktails in the hotel bar that night were superb and I slept like a baby. Breakfast the following morning was divine but I would recommend booking, as a lot of breakfast meetings seemed to be taking place, so had to wait fifteen minutes for a table. Loved it, will definitely return.

Loved it. Managed to be a great hideaway from the excitement of the West End. Great beds and bedding, bathroom overflowing with lovely products, and very helpful staff.

This was quite simply one of the nicest hotel rooms I'd stayed in. From the radio tuned in to Classic FM as you entered to the hand-made cookies and enormous bed. The supremely tasteful, fresh and traditional decor made me feel as though I was the very first person to stay in the room. The Red Fort Indian restaurant 2 minutes away was exceptional too. This will now be my hotel of choice for when I am staying over in London.

We had a fabulous stay at the Dean Street Townhouse, it will definitely become our favourite hotel for when we're staying in London. The little touches in the rooms made the stay very special, and the fact that we had a 'tiny' room didn't make the stay any less comfortable or luxurious. We also had a fantastic meal at Livebait in Covent Garden, the scallops and tuna steak are a must but the signature fish platters are the real reason to go.

Take a leisurely stroll down Great Portland Street, cross over and wander up Albany Street to the York and Albany (another Mr & Mrs Smith place of wonder)... we had the best pizza ever here, fresh out of 'Nonna's' deli.

The Dean Street Townhouse coffee shop offered great breakfast options. It's best to book a round table in front of the window because it is always full!
Il Siciliano, which is opposite the hotel, has really nice Italian food!
Also Pierre round the corner is really cute!

Quo Vadis is a great restaurant, nice white tablecloths and the perfect destination for a special meal. Lots of lovely artwork on the walls too!

Brilliant Hix restaurant is a short walk away on Brewer St, not only do they have the likes of Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin artwork hanging from the ceiling but their cocktail bar downstairs is effortlessly cool.

CARRY ON Lovely hotel, if a little on the hot side! Restaurant recommendation would be Arbutus (www.arbutusrestaurant.co.uk) on Frith Street, only a short walk away. This is a great restaurant and has won lots of awards. It's nicely casual in its ambiance but offers really excellent food.

I can thoroughly recommend both the hotel's restaurant next door and Quo Vadis over the road. Quo Vadis is more formal and best for a date if you wnat to impress whereas the Townhouse restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, simple but superb food, interesting art & decor and friendly service.

Ronnie Scotts jazz club is just around the corner- great shows within walking distance to the hotel!

The Hotel is excellently situated offering the widest choice of dining options, all within 5 minutes walk. We opted for fish at Randall and Aubin, 16 Brewer Street, (0207 2874447), just 100m. round the corner. There was a varied menu with some very tempting specials, including seared Tuna and baked John Dory, both of which were well cooked and generous. A dozen oysters,2 starters,2 main courses, a bottle of very acceptable Viogner all for £95 including service - highly recommended.

If you are in Soho, Busaba Eathai in Wardour Street is a must. The queues at the weekend can be a bit silly, but its worth the wait to sample the most delicious Thai food this side of Bangkok.

I stayed at the Dean Street Townhouse on 17 May. Extremely lovely room – lots of pillows and lovely Cowshed beauty accessories. As a GoldSmith I received a free Cowshed product but was told if I took any of the products in the room home, I would be charged. The product offerings were extremely large containers so I understand, but think they should go for smaller sizes for guests. Seems OTT when you are paying £300 per night to be told you can't take the body lotion etc. For those of you trying this – Dean Street in the heart of Soho is extremely busy and noisy - beware of the noise at 3am. Staff were lovely and generally a very enjoyable stay!

There is an extremely busy coffee and cake shop on Wardour Street called Princi's . The Best Tiramisu.
