What I liked
The hotel is gorgeously decorated and comfortable. Out room was on the 11th floor and looked out over the rooftops, which made for great people watching. The floor-to-ceiling windows with cushions were perfect! We recommend a high floor, facing the back. Our room was 1101 and just lovely! We had a welcome gift of bath oil and mid-way through a gift of two delicious macaroons as a 'hope you are enjoying your stay' gift. What a lovely touch that was! Bar has a great vibe and the courtyard garden is a little oasis. It is situated perfectly to enjoy the amazing shopping of SoHo (there is a map of shops in minibar!), and there are lots of subway stations around so it's only 15 minutes to get to up town. The concierge gave us great recommendations and the staff generally was lovely.
What could be better
Nothing! We loved this place and will definitely go back.

Betel if you like Thai (West Village). Daniel (Upper East Side) if you are feeling flush and are celebrating. During summer, at the weekend they close off Mulberry Street in Little Italy and all the restaurants have tables outside – it's a really nice vibe; good fun for lunc.

What I liked
This hotel is FAB U LOUS!!! Have stayed in a few of the Firmdale hotels and they all offer that little something EXTRA, they are quirky, divinely decorated, very cool staff who are well informed and charming. Freddy (the concierge at Crosby Street) was exceptional – he made our trip for us.
What could be better
Absolutely nothing!

Must eat at Balthazar, 80 Spring Street, right across the road from the Crosby – open all day, French brasserie style, buzzy and delicious food and cocktails. A drink at the River Cafe, in Dumbo just over the Brooklyn Bridge – right on the East River, almost under Brooklyn Bridge with fantastic views of lower Manhattan and World Trade Centre site and the Freedom Tower. THE best place for a NYC brunch – Bubbys, 120 Hudson Street in groovy Tribeca. Just try it, it's amazing!!

What I liked
This hotel from the Firmdale group is perfectly situated in the heart of Soho. Fantastic architecture with really good art, one of the best designed hotels we’ve ever seen. It’s a pleasure to stay in the rooms (each one is different) and enjoy the interior details and the view from the French windows. Restaurant and bar are real hotspots; there are two bars (one quieter with service for hotel guests) and two nice gardens/patios. Management and hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
What could be better
Some of the restaurant staff members could be friendlier, in the morning it was nearly impossible to get a smile...

The Buddakan (www.buddakannyc.com/) — it’s a must to have a dinner in this fantastic Asian restaurant! In Philadelphia there’s one, too — just in case....

What I liked
The room (One Bedroom Suite) was gorgeous, spacious and comfortable. Didn't get to enjoy it as much as I'd like, but certainly was exactly what we were hoping for. Lobby was nice and relaxed, with friendly staff quick to assist. The garden and cocktails were delightful, never tried the food.
What could be better
Nit picking, but I really prefer a walk in shower to the step in shower tub, especially one with only the partial barrier so the floor is inevitably wet afterwards.
Local recommendations
Plenty of fun things in SoHo, though we had a busy week and didn't get to do much (stayed here while our apt was having work done, so still had work, etc). Back Forty West is right down the street - a fun and delicious spot, with good cocktails, though the upstairs seating is a bit tight.

For anyone who needs their hair done while in NYC, Michele at Mario Diab – the salon recommended by Crosby St Hotel – is fabulous. The best 'blowout' I have ever had. Originally from Italy, he has travelled the world working at fashion weeks, modelling shoots etc and is taking a break from travel to have a 'normal' job (his words) for a while. Palumbo Anderssen across the road from Mario Diab further up Crosby Street has the most gorgeous vintage Lanvin and Pierre Cardin jewellery for the Sixties and Seventies cosmetic jewellery aficionado. Not to mention some lovely furniture. Never try to hail a cab on Broadway or the surrounding streets in the evenings on your own. It is faster to go back to Crosby St and ask one of the wonderful doormen to hail one for you. For anyone who loves wool and textiles, Purl Soho on Broome St has some beautiful luxurious yarns and unusual lovely quilting fabrics. The over-dyed cashmere yarns are just wonderful to touch and use.

Hey guys! Thank you so much for all your help, it really does make a trip so much more delightful with your lending hand and lovely extras. The Crosby Street Hotel has to be the best place to stay in NYC, I would highly recommend it, best spot, best area, best food, best shopping. Met up with some locals over there (old friends), a few places I recommend to eat are: The Felix (French) , The Lure (seafood) and The Lion and just near the hotel is a lunch time, more relaxed place, called Delicatessen, corner of Spring and Lafeyette. Thanks guys look forward to our next destination with you, Andy x

Outstanding stay at Crosby Street Hotel and within walking distance is the Blue Ribbon Japanese restaurant. So good I had to return three times. Apart from good sushi, the rib eye is probably one of the best beef dishes I have ever had. Very far from its description, which makes it sound like a steak. Always try to sit at the bar not in the back, which is a bit pokey. I turned up at about 7.30 and never booked even though it always seemed busy.
