Cotswold House The Square, Chipping Campden Cotswolds GL55 6AN GB

Cotswold House

Cotswolds, United Kingdom

Overview

Cotswold House is family-friendly: there is a children’s menu, and cots and high chairs are free to borrow. Foldaway beds can be provided for £35 a night.

Best for

Babies and up – children of all ages are welcome.

Recommended rooms

First-floor Griggs and Ashbee cottage rooms in the garden share a landing. Rooms 7, 9 and 10 are located over the restaurant and are therefore within range of most monitors.

Activities

This child-friendly hotel has two acres of garden to play in, and a croquet lawn. There are lots of good walking trails in this area, and visitor attractions nearby include the Cotswold Farm Park, Cotswold Wildlife Park, Birdworld and Bourton Model Village. If your children are a bit older, cycling can be arranged, too. There are several riding schools in the area that can provide lessons, hacks or courses during the school holidays.

Meals

Both of the restaurants welcome children; the less formal Hicks' Brasserie, open from 9am, serves meals all day until 9.30pm. There's a children's menu, and they are happy to provide child-friendly packed lunches, and heat up milk and baby food. During the summer months, meals on an outdoor terrace are great for messy eaters, or for parents to enjoy a drink while children play.

Babysitting

This can be arranged, and costs £12 an hour. Please give as much notice as possible.

No need to pack

High chairs are available in both restaurants.

Also

Every room has a DVD player, and there's a library with lots of child-friendly films to borrow for free. All rooms have a mini-bar, handy for keeping milk fresh. Extra beds cost an extra £35 a stay, and cots (no charge) can be added to any room, except Queen rooms which are too small.
