Getting there
- Planes Fly with British Airways (www.ba.com) or EasyJet (www.easyjet.com) to Palma de Mallorca Airport (also known as Son Sant Joan), half an hour away by car. Hire a car at the airport and enjoy the panoramic views along Mallorca’s rugged coastline as you drive to the hotel.
- Trains The nearest railway is the beautifully restored Sóller line, a vintage steam train through mountains and orange tree groves en route to Palma. The journey takes around an hour, and a return ticket will cost €11 or so.
- Automobiles A car is recommended for seeking out the best beaches and restaurants on the island, and for venturing further afield (it takes 25 minutes to drive to the nearest large city, Palma). You’ll be able to hire a car at the airport, and parking is available at the hotel.
- Others Take the ferry from Port de Sóller to Sa Calobra, one of Mallorca’s most spectacular natural attractions.
