Our favourite rooms
Light and airy Room One has two sash windows, a pale blue-and-taupe complexion, a bed scattered with gingham cushions, and a wooden-floored bathroom with a rain-head shower. The largest, most lavish resting place is Room Three, which counts lofty bay windows, a carved and curved French-style double bed, original cornices and two armchairs among its charms.
Packing tips
Cashmere bed-socks for padding around in; a copy of Persuasion by Jane Austen; comfy shoes for long walks by the canal and/or cycling gear (borrow wheels from Bath Bike Hire: www.bathbikehire.com).
