The hotel can arrange hotel-air balloon excursions, horse riding trails, hiking, climbing, rafting, camping trips, caving, stargazing with a professional astronomer, Easy Rider-style Harley-Davidson biking, clay-pigeon shooting, and pretty much any other activity you can think of that involves mucking about in the forest. For those moments when pampering's preferable to pioneering, the Aveda spa, yoga classes and cooking lessons offer more demure diversions.

August Cheesemakers from the region flock to the farm for the two-day Glorious Cheese festival, where you can sample fine cheeses from the hotel's own creamery, washed down with expertly selected wine. October Blackberry Farm celebrates the harvest with a series of special lunches and events, including horse-drawn carriage rides, live bluegrass concerts, and craft demonstrations.
