The Guestbook
Very cool, very comfortable and highly memorable stay. I was upgraded nonchalantly by the hip but extremely helpful reception staff. The room was great and the bar and restaurants were high quality without stuffiness, though service is a bit lackluster – multiple forgotten cappuccinos, belief that they are a bit too beautiful perhaps. Still, exceptionally great weekend and I would actively hope to return soon.

Berns Hotel was ideally located, and had a great restaurant that becomes a party place on Saturday nights. The brunch was delicious and the staff were very nice, helpful, and full of great tips. We found some amazing restaurants during our stay. Restaurant AG was trendy, with delicious meat and beautiful people. The restaurant Riche served traditional Swedish dishes with style. Caina was a small Italian canteen in the Nobis Hotel. Haga Forum, was the best place for brunch, overlooking the Haga Park, it was very relaxing on a Sunday. Kaffekoppen in the old town was cosy cafe, with candlelight, a bohemian style and incredible cakes - perfect for an afternoon latte after a tour at the Nobel Museum.

The refreshingly friendly front-desk staff provided a genuine welcome on arrival. Our room was tiny but well designed, with cunning bespoke wood built-in cupboards neatly housing everything you could want in a hotel room. Great breakfast buffet and the option to eat it in the incredible chandelier-hung ballroom, usually used as the Asian-inspired restaurant. For cheaper eats, I'd recommend the vegetarian buffet at Hermans on the cliffs of Sodermalm, with incredible views north over Stockholm (if you can get a seat on the terrace). For an escape-from-the-city feel only a few minutes away, take the tram to Djurgrden and hang out at the lovely Rosendals Tradsgards cafe, where you can eat tasty cakes and food made from produce grown onsite.

Pritzen restaurant near by is a must. Great local swedish food. The herring platter is famous.

Berns couldn't be better placed for an evening out. Start with a cocktail in the hotel terrace garden, overlooking the beautiful Berzelli park. Then, wander for something delicious to eat at Parisian-meets-Swedish style Prinsens restaurant on Master Samuelsgatan. If you haven't booked a table, you'll need to arrive early to benefit from the Swedish delights served here. We enjoyed a classic dish of meatballs and melt-in-the-mouth belly pork, all washed down with the local beer.
A great way to see the city is from the water and boat tours leave frequently, just a two minute walk from Berns. We followed this with another memorable Swedish meal at the beautifully renovated Ostermalms Saluhall. Husmans Deli is a stand in the middle of the market which serves great value hot meals at lunchtime.

Fantastic stay in a fantastic hotel! The room with large balcony was superb (really large balcony with nice view over the parc and Nybroviken).
For dinner: try out Prinsen (really good food) or the Asian restaurant in Berns (both need reservations)
Lunch/afternoon tea: Grand Hotel with fantastic views
