Great hotel with its chic, monochromatic interior and racy retro lime accents. Great service, and our room was huge, clean and stylish. Tranquil surrounds and whilst in an area which is comparable to London's Edgware Road, this did not matter as we walked the 20 minutes into town took in the various interesting sights along the way then took cabs home at night. As recommended by another Mr &Mrs Smith member, we dined for lunch at Comme Chez Soi, a small restaurant with swirling wrought iron and stained glass accents, reminiscent of the belle époque. Incredible, 3 Michelin star, peaceful, gentrified with an upmarket crowd and wonderful food and service. Pity this was virtually the only good service we experienced in Brussels, with the excpetion of Belga Queen, a stunning establishment with deliciously fresh seafood, and housed in a stately old bank, high-roofed and palatial. Other than these two places, we waited everywhere for a good half hour before being served even a glass of water, had to frequently ask for bills and constantly were left waiting for everything. Don't let this put you off as it's a charming city and Bruge is something else, unique and special. We just had a laugh about it and appreciated the wonderful food .Please note virtually everything is shut on a Monday e.g. shopping, and many restaurants closed on a Sunday night. Belga Queen is open. Definitely recommend the hotel for value for money and something a bit different.

If you're feeling decadent and want to spoil yourselves I would strongly recommend the three-Michelin-star Comme Chez Soi (www.commechezsoi.be). I surprised my wife with a trip on our recent visit to Brussels. It is just a few minutes from Be Manos and will be a fantastic treat for any foodies. Be warned though, you need to ensure you book in advance!

Be Manos was a cool hotel with excellent service. The bedrooms were spacious and the bathroom was really nice. We never heard noise from other rooms and the rooftop terrace bar is a must to watch the sun go down. All in all a top rated hotel even though not in the centre of town (walking distance about 20min).

About a 10-minute stroll from the hotel is Place du Jeu de Balle, where we went for the Sunday flea market. It was amazing and we stumbled on a few antique bargains to take home.

So nice and trendy, location is a bit ruff though.
Do not walk back to the hotel.

We stayed at Be Manos in January – what a great hotel! Very stylish, huge rooms with lovely Korres products in the bathroom and amazing breakfasts. Dinner at Restaurant de l'Ogenblik (+32 (0)2 511 6151) is a must, the food was divine and all very traditional. We went with a group of six people and everyone was very happy with the choice.

On the Saturday evening we went to an Italian restaurant called Bocconi, situated just off the Grand Place and only a few steps away from the famous Mannekin Pis (which we visited between dessert and coffee leaving the ladies to finish off the superb wine!) We had great cocktails in the hotel bar before the meal; the food and service were great throughout the evening. We had a great time at Be Manos but we were advised to get taxis to and from the hotel because the area you have to walk through is not that good.
