AKA Hua Hin
Getting there
This chilled hillside retreat is set on 10 lush, lakeside acres in the Thai resort town of Hua Hin, just a short chip shot from the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course.
- Planes Mainstream airlines no longer fly to Hua Hin, so Bangkok’s international Suvarnabhumi Airport (bangkokairportonline.com) is your best bet. From here, AKA Hua Hin can arrange a limousine pick-up for the two- to three-hour drive south.
- Trains It may not be speedy, but rail travel is one of the easiest ways to get to Hua Hin. Trains depart from Bangkok’s Hualamphong station several times a day, and the express option will have you reclining poolside in under four hours (www.railway.co.th).
- Automobiles Hua Hin Limousine Services (www.huahin-limousine.com) can also ferry you from Bangkok to Hua Hin and back, and on jaunts around town. You could drive yourself, but be warned: the traffic is beyond hectic.
