Can Shana is best suited to older, responsible children as there's a staircase without banisters and unwalled terraces. There's a highchair and travel cot available and lots of things for kids to do. As well as the swimming pool, there's access to a a shared tennis court.
Music
There's a simple iDock but not a massive soundsystem. There's a plasma TV with all your DVD trimmings too.
Eco policy
Reclaimed timber has been used where possible, the water is from a well, and the garden is green literally and environmentally as it's mature and preserved.

Interior
Bedrooms
All the bedrooms have traditional farmhouse windows, which means that the rooms are cool and shaded during the day and perfect if you want to have a siesta; they all have air-conditioning.
Master bedroom: this large double is located on the first floor in the main house and it has an ensuite shower. Two doors lead onto the top terrace – this is not a deck for kiddiwinks though as it has low sides.
Bedroom two: this standard double is located on the ground floor; there’s door that leads to the pathway that goes round the side of the house to the pool. There’s a bathroom next door that has a shower, but fans of in-room ablutions will enjoy the fun egg-shaped tub in the bedroom.
Bedroom three: there are twin beds with mosquito nets in this room which is located away from the main house has its own private entrance and small terrace. The bathroom has a shower.
Bedroom four: this standard double located under bedroom three and it also has private entrance. There’s an ensuite shower.
Kitchen The small kitchen is modern and fully equipped with a dishwasher, electric cooker and oven, a microwave grill oven, a built-in coffee machine. There’s a door that leads to the covered alfresco dining area by the pool and another that takes you to the barbecue area at the side. There is an additional fridge and freezer located in the garage.
Living room Can Shana has a TV area with a plasma and DVD player and also sitting-room space with two sofas and an open fireplace.
Dining room Inside, there’s a bench-style table that seats eight. Outside by the entrance there is a front porch that features more seating also for eight people.
Other There is a washing machine located in the garage.
Outdoor
Poolside The pool is 3.5mx7m and is about 1m deep throughout.
Gardens The grounds are mainly terraced around the pool with fantastic views over that verdant countryside and across to the tree-dotted mountains. The gardens are also walled with an electric gate which makes it feel very secure.

Activities
Best beaches
Benirras beach is the closest; it’s a chilled-out hippy beach and fantastic spot to watch the sunset. Follow the signs from St Mateo or St Joan. North-coast Cala d’en Serra near Portinatx is a well-kept secret. Aguas Blancas on the northeast coast has a great chiringuito serving caipirinhas and steak sandwiches. Cala Jondal in the east is beloved for its seafood restaurants.
Best walks
If you're in the mood to pick up the pace, this is a great spot for joggers – there is a fantastic 4.5 mile loop you can follow for a great run. Brace yourself for a killer kill at the end though!
Activities
Tick ‘ramble through the pine forest on my doorstep’ off your to-do-list, or go horse riding – there are three places from which to get cantering nearby. Ask for details when you are shown around the house. Hire a 4x4 and take to the dirt tracks that criss-cross the pine forests in the north of the island. There’s limitless opportunity for golf, sailing, water-skiing, windsurfing, diving, horse-riding, go-karting and hot-air balloon trips, too. Speak to Deliciously Sorted to arrange.
Smith tip
If you've got friends also living or holidaying on the White Isle, make sure you schedule cocktails at sunset here. The villa is easy to find and it's a great place for groups to gather for a sundowner before heading off for supper or making the most of the barbecue.
