- Diègue is on the third floor, with sky-blue walls and a terrace with great views over the rooftops of Bordeaux and the Palais Gallien. Jean is smaller but much-loved, with strawberry-red walls and a big semi-circular window by the bed overlooking the garden.

Food & drink
- Hotel restaurant
- The set menus are prepared using seasonal, fresh food. There is a strong emphasis on fine wines, as well as featuring excellent seafood and cheese. The hotel can also arrange a chaffeur-driven trip to the château for dinner.

- Informal elegance.

- Staff are very thoughtful about finding romantic spots for couples. Outside on the terrace is lovely in summer.
- Last orders
- Dinner must be requested by 6pm and is served till 9pm. The bar is open till 11pm.

- A variety of dishes and snacks is available until 11pm.

- The wine bar feels like a private living room, and you can choose the music you’d like to play.

Chez Dubern on Allées de Tourny (+33 (0)5 56 79 07 70) has fresh seafood and, of course, great wines from the surrounding region.
Le Sélénite at Place Paul-Avisseau (+33 (0)5 56 51 05 64) is a very cool, modern spot for a classy lunch.
Le Gravelier on Cours de Verdun (+33 (0)5 56 48 17 15) opposite the botanical gardens serves and internationally influenced menu flavoured with exotic spices in chic minimalist surroundings.
Worth getting out of bed for
La Maison Bord’eaux is run by a family of wine growers, and private tours of their cellars can be arranged. There are city tours and golf trips available, also arranged by the hotel.
For those interested in sampling the region's excellent wine, La Maison du Vins on Cours du XXX Juillet (+33 (0)5 56 00 22 66) allows you to buy 15cl tasting glasses of some of Bordeaux’s finest for only a few euros each.
