- Hotel closed
- September and October.
- Also
- There are no roads as such on Mustique – it’s navigated by ‘mule’, essentially a souped-up golf cart.
In the know
- Our favourite rooms
- Flamboyant in Coutinot house grabbed our attention with 180-degree views from the corner overlooking the ocean; Allamanda next door is a little larger, and also promises panoramic lookouts. Upstairs, the Sunset suite’s terrace is the best spot on the property for cocktails at dusk. Booking the two-bed Cotton Hill residence on the hilltop bags you a private pool, views of the Atlantic and the Caribbean, personal butler and use of the swankiest mule on the island (sports tyres and an extra gear).
- Packing tips
- If you have a drop-dead gorgeous, obscenely wealthy other half, make sure you bring them along. If not, you may well find one here.
- Also
- The waters around Mustique are one giant tropical aquarium – take advantage of the Cotton House’s dive centre and free-to-use snorkelling gear.
Food & drink
- Hotel restaurant
- Three. Designed by theatrical visonary Oliver Messel, the Great Room is a neocolonial gathering point for afternoon tea. The Veranda is modern and fresh with a leaning toward Italian/Caribbean fine dining. The Beach Café is an easygoing lunch spot.
- Dress code
- On-trend Armani or Temperley for dinner; Manolo Blahnik sandals and Missoni bikinis for lunch.
- Top table
- Ask for a sea-view spot at the Veranda; or dine privately in your room.
- Last orders
- Evening dining ends at 9.30pm in the Veranda. The bar keeps serving until the last guest leaves.
- Room service
- 7am–11pm.
- Hotel bar
- It doesn’t get more glam than Tuesday nights in the Great Room. Perch on a stool at the art deco oval bar, sipping on a dirty martini, while, all around, the island’s well-heeled and well-oiled villa owners gather for their weekly champagne mingle.
