Also

In the know

Our favourite rooms
All the resort’s hand-built wooden bungalows are similar, with wrap-around porches and simple rustic furnishings. If you’re in search of honeymoonish seclusion, number 10 is the one to go for, as it’s more isolated than the rest.
Packing tips
Insect repellent. Leave some space in your luggage so you can take home a bundle of plastic for recycling – Andros has no recycling facilities of its own.
Also
The resort also plays host to a number of giant iguanas, hummingbirds, nocturnal herons and other island wildlife, so be prepared for things to go bump in the night.

Food & drink

food and drink - Tiamo Resort
Hotel restaurant
The owners of Tiamo have striven to create a friendly, familial vibe, by encouraging resort guests to dine together on a long table by the lodge each evening. The ethically informed, seafood-heavy menu can also be served on a private table.
Dress code
Barefoot sophisticate.
Top table
If the communal dining practice proves a bit much, the card table in the corner can, in the swish of a tablecloth, become a candlelit romantic dining spot.
Last orders
All meals are served at the same time.
Room service
All meals can be served in your bungalow for a small fee.
Hotel bar
Prop up the main lodge bar with a glass of Bahamian Kalik beer or sip a cooling cocktail.

Inspiration

Not only is South Andros the Bahamas’ least commercial, most undeveloped island paradise, but Tiamo Resort is the country’s most environmentally friendly wedding venue.
