Dawn Hindle
Ibizan rock and roller
As club promoters, Dawn Hindle and husband Andy McKay made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for throwing the busiest weekly parties in the world. After 15 years at the helm of Manumission and the Carry On events at Space, this pair set up Ibiza Rocks with the aim of bringing live music to the White Isle. This lifestyle brand now encompasses gigs, hotels, bars, diners, fashion and travel and everything in between – so who better to judge what makes a hip hotel tick? ‘At Ibiza Rocks we believe in challenging convention, the power of surprise and the satisfaction of disrupting the status quo. We like to think we have triple AAA standards of attitude, atmosphere and authenticity.’ A History of Art graduate, Dawn then went on to spend seven years in Manchester studying architecture, cultivating a love of detail and aesthetic harmony. ‘I then dutifully gave it all up to join the circus by running away to discover the world and the parties of Ibiza.’ Married now with three children, Andy and Dawn regularly pop back to the UK to poke their noses into their London office, but Ibiza remains their spiritual home.
