Try to get yourself to The Alibi Room at 12236 Washington Blvd. (+1 310 390 9300) in Culver City while you are here. It is a 20 minute drive from Hollywood, and not necessarily much of a destination otherwise, but it is well worth the trip. A recent craze in LA is the Korean BBQ Taco Truck. Usually you can only come across these trucks, which roam around the city, thanks to either serendipity or an in-the-know twitter post. Not exactly the perfect pursuit if you are only in town for a few days. Well, The Alibi Room serves up this Korean-Mexican fusion from a stationary, albeit truck-size kitchen. In a minimalist and casual atmosphere, you can sit at the bar, crouch on one of the few sofas or perch on the outdoor benches and enjoy the satisfying and innovative food along with a decent selection of beer, wine and cocktails. The menu is short and the prices are low, but everything we ate was absolutely mouth-watering. Try the savory and sweet short-rib kogi sliders. I am remembering them fondly now.
