Formerly Hotel QT, this cheap-chic boutique bolt hole, inches from Times Square in the middle of Manhattan, is just what you’d expect from that most artful of lodgers, André Balazs.

- Poolside
- The mezzanine-level pool has an under-water sound system and occupies centre-stage behind a glass wall in Reception. There is also a sauna and steam room.
- Children
- No cots, but the bunk beds are ideal if you’re bringing older children. Under-15s stay free.
- Also
- Pets allowed, with a $100 cleaning charge. Hotel Grace has a DJ every night except Monday.

- The penthouse studio suites have views of Times Square and lots of natural light. A rooms feature king bed and twin bunks. B rooms are as roomy, but without bunks. E rooms are standard queens.
