Outstanding hotel and spa. After staying at the hotel we traveled up to Holy Island for a stunning drive down the Northumbria coast – would avoid the Manor House Hotel (I think someone there fraudulently used my credit card), but would definitely take a trip up to the coastline and especially a walk along the beach at Bamburgh Castle.
When staying at the hotel don't pass up the opportunity to eat in the amazing Michelin-starred restaurant. We had one of the most wonderful meals we've ever eaten, starting with tasty little canapes served in the bar – try the hotel's own special recipe bloody mary, definitely the best Mr Smith has ever tasted. For the main meal, the food was spectacular the setting tranquil (ask for the top table if possible, situated in the bay with lovely views over the terrace) and the staff discreetly attentive.
I must confess that we didn't venture out of the hotel and spa for two days, save for sitting in the hot tubs on the terrace. The White Room restaurant at Seaham Hall is fabulous and well deserves its Michelin star.
What a beautiful place. The interior design kept us quiet whilst we wandered around and the underground tunnel to the spa was instant relaxation.
