We had a lovely stay in Bath for the New Year break. We booked a New Year's Eve meal at a restaurant called Martini and think it deserves a special mention. They really gave all the customers a warm welcome on New Year's Eve and created a great party atmosphere. The meal was a special five-course event but the portions were just the right size, the food was great and the service was excellent. We'd recommend a meal there to anyone looking for a welcoming, traditional Italian restaurant which is reasonably priced with high quality cuisine.
Had a wonderful stay at this stunning hotel, whose staff made such a fuss of our young children, showing them the wine cellar, Georgian coal cellars, chef's kitchen etc – great entertainment! Spent a lovely morning at the Court Gardens in Holt (National Trust) – beautiful for adults, and with an adventure playground for children, currently with a tree-spotting trail with ancient folklore facts thrown in.
The entire stay was fantastic, and unbelievably relaxing. If you are paying a visit to Bath the Therma Spa is a must visit, along with the abbey. Both are obvious choices but well worth the visit; where else could you relax in a roof-top pool in October surrounded by beautiful architecture and not feel spoilt?
My Mum and I stayed here as a little treat and had a fabulous time. What a gorgeous boutique hotel for such a reasonable price. No stuffy airs or graces here, just really lovely staff and a fab setting (though the locals do like a bit of a sing-song of an evening so you might want to ask for a room at the back...) We loved The Olive Tree restaurant downstairs and
drinks in the hotel's garden by the quince tree, but for something a little less formal do pay a culinary visit to The Pinch restaurant in Margarets Buildings, a short hop away from the Royal Crescent. It's small but perfectly formed and the French food is total tastebud heaven. A short stroll down from the Queensberry and you're bound to hit the shoe haven that is Lux. Beware, the girls are gorgeous and they stock Anya Hindmarch...
We had a fantastic stay at the Queensberry. All the staff were warm and welcoming. On arrival, they took our bags and parked our car, meaning we could get on with our day in Bath. They also gave us a map and pointed us to the attractions. The bags were in our room when we returned and were treated to complimentary tea downstairs. The restaurant was superb! An absolute must. When we left they also helped us with directions for our onward journey to Cornwall.
A must-visit in Bath: The Arch Restaurant and Champagne Lounge. The overwhelming amount of restaurants in Bath can make deciding where to eat a bit of a headache! A friendly tourist recommended the restaurant as we stood outside looking at the menu. It wasn’t cheap but it was worth every penny and the upstairs bar is a great place to sit and have a quiet cocktail.
A little gem that we found just round the corner was called Sub13. it was in the basement and served the best cocktails I have had in a very long time. The vanilla martini was amazing. Great bar, really friendly staff that weren't afraid to share their recipes. I need to return.
