Of the mixture of chain restaurants and independents in Henley, our favourite was the Green Olive, at 28 Market Place, at the top of the main street. It's an airy meze restaurant with a fab menu of about 50 dishes, including 10 daily special meze. Great for groups – there were loads there when we went – but also fun for couples. Great veggie range – we were too full for dessert. Popular with kids, so if that's not your scene, go later. Definitely one to book at weekends. According to their website, the place was set up by Cypriot chef Leo Charmantas and he now has three branches – I can see it taking off as a chain, but the place still had a personal feel.
This is the second time I have stayed at this wonderful location. The first was on business and my latest, for my wedding anniversary. The rooms have been fabulous, the restaurant really comfortable with great food and the staff truly attentive. Can't recommend this hotel enough!
