- Named after rivers of the world, Una’s rooms differ quite dramatically in size and style so it’s worth finding out as much as you can before booking. You’ll find the highest wow factor in Belise, which includes a Jacuzzi in a cavernous underground chamber, a sauna, a patio, and a huge TV. Quaille, at the very top of the town house, is a duplex penthouse suite with its own private bar, a sizeable dining/meeting table and a cinema room, complete with projector and PlayStation 3. Danube, on the first floor, has great views of the Square and the sea from its balcony.

- The combination of the coastal breeze and the wide green lawns of Regency Square make the area ideal for kite-flying.

Regency Square is just that – a gorgeous green lawn lined with elegant Georgian townhouses, one of which is home to Hotel Una, a suave, refreshingly unpretentious boutique bed and breakfast. Owned and styled by a Bosnian architect, and lined with smart contemporary artworks, the hotel supplies all the simple pleasures in one welcoming, contemporary package.

- There’s no restaurant at present (one’s in the pipeline for 2009), but bar snacks are available from noon to 11pm and breakfast is served in two high-ceilinged ground-floor chambers.

- Coastal casuals with a frisson of funk.
- Top table
- From the table by the bay windows at the front of the hotel, you can look out over the square and the sea.
- Last orders
- Breakfast’s served until 10am, (a wee bit early for a more boisterous Brighton weekend), and the bar’s open 24-hours a day to residents (it closes at 11pm for visitors).
- Room service
- Breakfast can be delivered to King Rooms and Luxury Suites with no service charge. Bar snacks are available until 11pm, but drinks can be provided on a 24-hour basis.
- Hotel bar
- Una’s smart little bar is a coffee-and-WiFi zone by day, and a sophisticated cocktail den by night – chilled, jazzy and cosy too. Try a Classic Una – vodka or gin, lemon, orange and tonic water – like the bar itself, it’s simple and refreshing.

- Welcome. If booked in advance, baby cots are free and extra beds can be installed for £15 a night (including breakfast). Monitoring equipment is available and breakfast can be tailored to suit smaller stomachs.
