Sister to the Phuket boutique hotel of the same name, Aleenta Pran Buri is a true hideaway, free from both urban distraction and beach hotel bustle. A short drive south of historic Hua Hin, the small collection of white and wooden villas surround a quirky teacup infinity pool that stretches out above the sand.

- Light linen shirts and swish beachy skirts.
- Top table
- When the weather’s dry enough, you have to go poolside. Otherwise the tables by the front window overlook the ocean and offer great dining-with-a-view.
- Last orders
- The restaurant closes at 10.30pm, while the bar keeps the drinks flowing until the last guest retires.

- Hotel bar
- A modest, laid-back lounge bar by the pool serves a wide variety of refreshments, include the secret concoction which they call an Aleenta White and which we call ‘delicious’.
