'If want to stretch your legs after arrival and chase away the jet lag, why not take in the flower market near the hotel and grab a bite to eat on the river bank afterwards? To find the flower market, head back to the main road, turn left and cross the bridge at the top of the road that takes you into Chiang Mai. When you reach the other side, turn right staying on the right-hand side of the road. If you walk about 10-15 minutes, you start to come across stalls selling amazing flowers and floral sculptures. The smell's amazing and the sight's fantastic. If you want some weird and wonderful smells, cross the road into the food market, where many strange edible delights await. Once you've had enough of looking at food, return to the road you were walking along, continuing on the right-hand side, until you come to a bridge, allowing you to cross back across the river. Upon turning right at the other side, you come across a string a of restaurants with views on to the river; perfect spot for a cool beer and a hot Thai curry! Probably best to call hotel to send their tuk-tuk to pick you up.....'
