Best for: This child-friendly hotel welcomes babies and children of all ages, though take care with rowdy toddlers.
Recommended rooms: The Double Suite has two bedrooms, a living area and two private terraces (enclosed and safe enough for even very young children). The Junior Suite has an adjoining Standard Room. Extra beds and cots can be added to any room for €25 a night.
Activities: Older children will love horse riding, mountain biking or guided walks, all available at an extra charge. They can let off steam in the hotel's large garden, and play safely in the private gardens and terraces – every room has one.
Swimming pool: There isn't a children's or paddling pool, but the outdoor pool in an idyllic walled garden has a shallow end.
Meals: Children are welcome in the restaurant for all meals. There isn't a dedicated menu for them, but the kitchen will prepare food on demand ('usually chicken and French fries'). They'll also whip up child-friendly packed lunches, and heat up milk and baby food.
Baby sitting: This can be arranged at €7.50 an hour; give plenty of notice.
No need to pack: High chairs are provided in the restaurant.
Also: Parents are welcome to store baby milk and children's food in the kitchens. Be aware that neither the pool or pond is fenced in.
