O on Kloof's well placed to make the most of a cluster of Bantry Bay eateries in the area. One of the finest is Salt in the Ambassador Hotel (+27 (0)21 439 6170). Not only is the modern South African food exceptional, but the view over the water is, too. On the edge of the trendy Bo-Kaap area, Ginja (+27 (0)21 426 2368) walks a high-wire of hectic flavour combinations with a menu of fusion dishes that's always surprising but never unpleasant. Stop off for a nightcap in the bar upstairs before heading home.
