In the know
- Our favourite rooms
- If pushed for a preference, we do adore the senior suites, which come with king-size beds and fireplaces, but all the rooms are gorgeous. All incorporate Iraqi artist Hassan Massoudij’s calligraphic artwork, wooden furniture designed by owners Bruno and Virginie, and enormous bathtubs. The neutral decor is lifted by a choice of three different lighting ‘ambiences’, which you can set according to your mood.
- Packing tips
- Bring stylish swimwear – you’ll feel as though you’re on the cover of a Hed Kandi CD as you lounge by the pool.
- Also
- Hassan’s hammam has to be one of the most stylish steam baths in Morocco. Treat yourself to a massage or a spa treatment, all of which employ his home-made plant and herb oils, and emerge feeling fresh and revitalised.

Villa Margot
Marrakech, Morocco[view map]
- Style
- A piece of Ibiza in the Maghreb
- Setting
- Out-of-town idyll
With its innovative lighting, white-marble bathtubs and candlelit pool, the beautiful Villa Margot doesn’t look as though it should be situated just outside the bustling hubbub of Marrakech at all. Places this sleek and glamorous are usually seen in the hills above Ibiza Town. But look more closely – at its Arabic artwork, atmospheric hammam and Berber-inspired furnishings – and you’ll realise that its soul is very much in Morocco.
