In the know

Our favourite rooms
Each of the eight antique timber houses is unique; five have open-air bathrooms with freestanding wooden bath tubs. Palm Villa tops our list with its ornate carved windows and sumptuous decor in turquoise and lime green. They're all beautifully furnished with traditional Malay fabrics, antiques and carefully picked decorative details.
Packing tips
Binoculars, for lying back on a lounger and staring at the stars.
