While our stay in Milan at Hotel Straf was an exceptional event due to the amazingly helpful and delightful staff, we very much recommend the Lyr restaurant... I know we are speaking of Milan, Italy where pasta is royalty, but the Lyr Lebanese restaurant was a delightful change of pace. Great upscale decor; we enjoyed the server's suggestions, the food was authentic to Lebanon (I know this as my man is Lebanese born and bred), everything was fresh, service was excellent and timely. We encountered locals dining here as well as great mix of well dressed diners. If the arak hadn't been so good , I might have remembered a dessert to recommend ;) Also, directly across the street from the Straf is a high-end department store with a full-service beauty salon at the very top – wow! VIP service from start to stop. Don't miss it...
During our honeymoon, my wife and I stayed at the Hotel Straf. The hotel has an individual quality, and the bar seems to be a hub of activity. Grab a spritz, some nibbles from the bar, settle down on the big square cushions and immerse yourself in Milanese streetlife with the locals. I have to warn you against dining at Biffi in Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle. I'm sure the restaurant has a long and esteemed heritage, but nowadays the food is disappointingly average. If you're there for the architecture, and people-watching, fine, but don't go there expecting great food, or you will be disappointed, especially when they present you with the bill.
