In the know
- Our favourite rooms
- Style rooms and Experience suites have king-size beds; all Experience suites have an additional TV in the bathroom (if you like to watch while you wash). Corner rooms are brighter, with big windows (light sleepers should probably avoid those overlooking the terrace at the back, as it can be noisy at weekends when the bar is busy). For a romantic weekend, try room 201, which has a red Italian-leather bed, a large bathroom and walk-in shower. 303 has a lovely pitched roof, and a great desk area if you need to use your laptop while you're away.
- Packing tips
- Leave the GHDs at home – Dylan has hair straighteners you can borrow to add polish to lacklustre locks.
- Also
- Not all rooms have bath tubs, so if you love long hot soaks make sure you request one when you book.

Dylan
Dublin, Ireland[view map]
- Style
- Boudoir-chic Victorian townhouse
- Setting
- Dublin's foliage-rich fringe
This boutique hotel in Dublin is Victorian on the outside and victorious on the inside; a rather austere exterior conceals playfully cool and modern interiors and beds you'll never want to get out of. The decadent Dylan Bar could have sprung from the combined imaginings of David Lynch and Lewis Carroll, and a night of cocktails here is a Dublin must-do. And from the Dylan's leafy residential location, Dublin's best bits are all within walking distance.

The recently re-styled eatery is decked out with glossy wood-topped tables, 1950s inspired lighting, silver and nori coverings on the chairs and soft velvet banquettes.
