Dylan
- Style
- Boudoir-chic Victorian townhouse
- Setting
- Dublin's foliage-rich fringe
This boutique hotel in Dublin is Victorian on the outside and victorious on the inside, with playful modern interiors, a decadent spend-the-night bar and beds you'll never want to get out of. It may be on the city's fringe, but the best bits are all within walking distance

In the know
- Our favourite rooms
- Style rooms and Experience suites have king-size beds; all Experience suites have an additional TV in the bathroom (if you like to watch while you wash). Corner rooms are brighter, with big windows (light sleepers should probably avoid those overlooking the terrace at the back, as it can be noisy at weekends when the bar is busy). For a romantic weekend, try room 201, which has a red Italian-leather bed, a large bathroom and walk-in shower.
- Packing tips
- Leave the GHDs at home – Dylan has hair straighteners you can borrow to add polish to lacklustre locks.
- Also
- Not all rooms have bath tubs, so if you love long hot soaks make sure you request one when you book.
Food & drink
- Hotel restaurant
- Like a perfectly smooth spoonful of crème fraîche, Still restaurant is a symphony of glistening off-white, with marble floors and cream leather seats. Padraic Hayden's modern Irish fine-dining menu is a treat in such a calming, laid-back setting.
- Dress code
- Comfortable urban élan.
- Top table
- By day, a table by the window for maximum natural light and people-watching; by night, a corner table with the extra-high-backed chairs for maximum intimacy.
- Last orders
- Still restaurant: Monday–Wednesday, 10.30pm; Thursday–Saturday, 11pm; Sunday, 10pm. Dylan Bar: 12.30am on Fridays and Saturdays; 11.30pm on Thursdays and 11pm the rest of the week.
- Room service
- Full menu available 24 hours a day (fish of the day and roast-beef sandwiches are good choices).
- Hotel bar
- Dylan Bar is popular among in-the-know Dubliners for its decadent decor and killer cocktails; slurp a trademark Dylan mixed with Stoli and Galliano on a peacock-blue velvet stool at the bar, or flirt with flutes in a scarlet-clad nook.
