A tiny green dot with a white-sand outline, just a few minutes’ doggy-paddle from Praslin, Round Island is the sort of tropical paradise that you used to draw at school. Lush green foliage rises to a peak, semi-hiding traditional Creole-style villas, with gorgeous terraces and delicious, dip-worthy pools, which exude a uniquely tropical type of luxury.

- Poolside
- There are two pools on the island – though one is for the sole use of those staying in the Master Villa.

- The resort is closed between 1–30 June annually.

Food & drink
- Hotel restaurant
- The tropical-style Le Flibustier restaurant is right on the beach, and serves up delicious international and Creole cuisine with an emphasis on straight-out-of-the-water seafood.
- Dress code
- Breezy and casual barefoot chic.
- Top table
- Ask for a table right at the edge of the veranda, so you can watch the ocean gently swell beneath you as you tuck into your mullets and marlin.
- Last orders
- The last meals and drinks are usually served at 11pm, but arrangements are incredibly flexible.
- Room service
- You can order from the restaurant menu and have dishes brought to your room at any time.
- Hotel bar
- Situated in the open-air restaurant, the bar is the ideal place in which to relax with a pre- or post-prandial cocktail.

- Children
- Kids are welcome. Under fives stay for free; six- to 11-year-olds are €300 a night; and 12- to 17-year-olds are €475 a night. Babysitters are available on request. The resort also provides cribs, and there’s a full children’s menu in the restaurant.
