In the know
- Our favourite rooms
- Chez René has an entire wall decorated in a bold black- and-white flock paper – the heavy green-and-red-striped curtains should clash, but somehow work. The bathroom is kitted out in jet tiles and has a powerful rain shower. La Chambre Mauve, in the eaves, has a feminine palette of amethyst and lavender, but chunky wooden beams redress the balance.
- Packing tips
- Linens and deck shoes for that ‘I’ve-just-stepped-off-my-yacht’ look; a notebook to jot down recipe ideas after visiting the markets; a waterproof jacket to protect against Normandy showers.
- Also
- Head to the garden for the folly, which has been lovingly restored with warm, vibrant colours, and has a Moroccan feel.
Current offers
- Smith card offer
- A bottle of local cider; GoldSmith members staying three nights or more receive a bottle of champagne
