Our favourite rooms: 16, 18, 25 and 27 are the best rooms, looking out on to the cobbled street that leads up to the castle. 17 and 26 have bathtubs.
Also: The hotel is currently expanding in the next-door building, however the bulk of the construction work is now done and is due to be completed in October 2007.

Prague's Design & Style Hotel Neruda is as unpretentious a design hotel as you could hope for. It's a comfortable marriage of modernism and classicism: the lines of a contemporary townhouse encased in a centuries-old shell, right by the castle in Hradcany. Sharp-looking stone steps meet glass balustrades, rough-end red granite, brushed aluminium uplighters, and the human touch of an antique copper coffee urn, gilt-framed mirrors and a dream glass chandelier.

Check-out: Midday, but late check-out sometimes possible.

Hotel restaurant: Café/restaurant Carolina is good for light lunches and home-baked pastries. Don’t leave without trying the legendary home-made hot chocolate.
