Discovery Travel and Living, here's what we discovered:
The Parisian responsible for this chic retreat broke the mould. Having never learned about architecture or studied interior design or worked in hospitality, Francois-Xavier Dussol had the courage to tear down a perfectly well-designed architect’s creation and offer guests a unique and individual experience like nowhere else.
Perched in Millionaires Row it boasts neighbours as illustrious as Pele, just above a private members club and semi-private beach, you may feel like you are getting a privileged taste of an exclusive lifestyle normally reserved for the exceptionally wealthy.
The owners want you to feel part of the family, and it’s a little like being in their house, which means they do court a certain type of guest. Still, there’s a big communal space for only seven rooms, and a very social atmosphere. Sure it lacks some of the corporate facilities such as 24-hour room service, mini bars and amenities, but what it doesn’t scrimp on is style. And as remarkable as this hotel is now, Francois-Xavier wants more: a helipad, an infinity pool, Delano-style cabanas; so watch this space.
