Getting there

A million acres in size, El Questro lies in the Kimberley region in the far north western Australia.

Planes

There are regular flights from all major Australian capital cities to Kununurra via Perth or Darwin with Qantas (www.qantas.com.au; 13 13 13), Air North (www.airnorth.com.au; 1800 627 474) or Sky West (www.skywest.com.au; 1300 66 0088). If you want to charter a jet or if you’re lucky to own one yourself then El Questro has two airstrips, the smaller strip at Emma Gorge Resort, the other close to the Station Township and Homestead facilities. From Kununurra to the Homestead it’s a two hour drive, El Questro can arrange transfers from here and Emma George at a cost.

Automobiles

You can hire a car from Kununurra airport. El Questro is situated in the East Kimberley, 110km west of Kununurra by road - 58km on the sealed Great Northern Highway towards Wyndham, with the remainder on the unsealed and corrugated gravel Gibb River Road. And so hiring a 4WD vehicle is strongly recommended.
