Lisa Allardice

Literary-world reporter

A press trip to review the six-star hotels of the Seychelles for Harpers & Queen spoiled Lisa early in her career. When she isn’t being a good Guardian journalist, washing out old milk bottles and discussing the state of the NHS, she still loves jetting off to review Mr & Mrs Smith hotels. For her day job as editor of the Guardian Review, the only time she leaves her desk in King’s Cross is to make the annual pilgrimage to a wet field in Wales for the Hay Festival. She does also get out sometimes to interview the odd writer, such as Martin Amis and Margaret Atwood.
