Getting there
- Planes You can fly direct to the island from London Gatwick every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday during the summer with EasyJet (www.easyjet.com) or connect from Athens in 45 minutes with Aegean Airlines (www.aegeanair.com), Olympic Air (www.olympicair.com) or Athens Airways (www.athensairways.com). Sun Rocks is in the village of Firostefani, a kilometre from Fira and 6km from the airport; a taxi should cost around €12.
- Automobiles Sun Rocks is in Firostefani, just past Fira. It’s 10km from Athinios port, and 8km to the nearest beach, so a car will come in handy.
- Others Athinios port can be reached by boat from Athens/Piraeus and other locations such as Mykonos or Crete; see www.gtp.gr. The fast boat from Piraeus is three and a half hours, but others are slower, so it’s definitely worth looking at the timetable. A taxi will should be roughly €15.
