Getting there
- Planes The island’s main airport, Heraklion, is an hour away by car. Monarch (www.monarch.co.uk) flies direct from London Gatwick.
- Automobiles The nearest big town is Agios Nikolaos, a 10-minute drive from the hotel. From the airport, the E75 will come in handy. There’s free parking when you arrive.
- Others Boat and helicopter are other, more dramatic arrival options.
