Wow factor
A long black-sand beach, startling sunsets over rice fields and dreamy modern design: Alila does weddings in style. Say your vows on the wave-lapped peninsula with Pura Timan Agung temple in the background...
Need to know
There are several suitable venues around the hotel, such as the lawn in front of the infinity pool, the grounds of the beachside 10-bedroom villa away from prying eyes, or a rustic open-air pavilion in the middle of the rice paddies. As well as taking care of all the finer details – flowers, photographer, cake, bridal beauty treatments, live entertainment, guest transportation and the legal logistics, which must be carried out in advance – the resort’s wedding planner can access amazing off-site venues including a Balinese palace that isn’t normally available to foreign visitors. You may also wish to incorporate some colourful Hindu ceremonial aspects into your special day and the hotel can co-ordinate this with local priests. Any time of year is right for holding a wedding at Alila Villas Soori, with temperatures consistently around 30°C. Most, however, will want to start celebrations in mid-morning or early evening to take advantage of the day's cooler hours. If rain should disturb the stunning outdoor venues, equally photogenic interiors can be found in the 10-bedroom villa or one of the resort’s restaurants.
Inspiration
Pure magic, from the sublime paddy fields-meet-seaside setting to the little extras overseen by committed staff members. Sunsets, which light the sky with flamingo pinks, daffodil yellows and flame oranges, bring an extra dash of dreamy romance to the party.
