Liz Ann began her career in the arts driving an art bus and bedding down in country B&Bs in her native Scotland. After cutting her teeth running Birmingham’s Icon Gallery, she has graduated to directing the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney (and staying in stylish hotels as she travels to promote the MCA on the international cultural map). 2012 will see a bigger and better MCA emerge from the scaffolding of a major redevelopment, fulfilling her ambition to create a national centre for contemporary art and education.
