Allegra McEvedy
First lady of fast food
Allegra is the face behind the chain – London’s Leon restaurants to be precise. As well as supplying healthy, wholesome fast food to the capital since 2004, she is a chef, writer and broadcaster, compiling cookbooks including Leon: Ingredients & Recipes and Economy Gastronomy, which accompanied the BBC series on how to eat better for less. Allegra is a regular guest presenter on Radio 4’s Loose Ends and hosts a live, interactive cookalong on the Guardian website. As well as a good fish pie, she loves Hollywood musicals, Elvis and juggling.
