Alison Kubler and Michael Zavros have been partners for 17 years and married for 12, brought together by their mutual love of art. A freelance curator and art writer, Alison has extensive experience on the gallery beat, and is associate curator for the UQ (University of Queensland) Art Museum. Michael is one of Australia’s most collectable artists, having bagged prestigious awards for his detailed, hyper-realist paintings, drawing and sculptures (see www.michaelzavros.com). Together they live on an eight-acre property on the outskirts of Brisbane with their three young children (Phoebe, Olympia and Leonidas), many chickens and ancient cat.
