Joe Dunthorne
Novel narrator
During his early days as a writer, when postmodernism still seemed like the hot ticket, Joe wrote a series of damning, future-set reviews of books he had not yet written. He’d like to say this has come in useful when reviewing hotels for Mr & Mrs Smith but it hasn’t. And for that we can be thankful, says Joe. Nowadays, he writes fiction and poetry, mainly set in the present day, and mostly not about himself. Submarine, his first novel, was turned into a major film. His second book, Wild Abandon, has just been published.
