This hotel is perfect for...

• Honeymoons • Romantic breaks • Gourmet getaways • Proper pampering • Peace and quiet • Lazy days

What I liked

The whole place is just gorgeous. The decor, the service, the menu, the location - everything. We spent a few nights here after our wedding and it was the perfect honeymoon destination. Staff are discreet, friendly and very accommodating - attention to detail in service is second to none. David was a charming host, serving us at the bar on both nights. The private hot tub by the river was fantastic, as was the room - Molton Brown products in the bathroom were most welcome!

What I liked

We really liked the setting and the room.

What could be better

The service at breakfast was very sloppy. The breakfast buffet was poor for a hotel of this quality.

Wow. Such a beautiful building. We stayed in Pienza and I loved the bath tub in the bedroom overlooking the Dales – a stunning view. The food was sublime. The owners David and Charlotte really couldn't do enough for us and they have renovated Yorebridge House with care, love and dedication and it shows.

The Wensleydale Heifer in West Witton is about 30 minutes drive from Yorebridge House and well worth a visit. You eat in the restaurant or the bar (less formal). Great menu and big on fish. In fact, if you're incredibly hungry you can order their giant fish and chips and if you finish you get to join a club (but you'd want to be pretty hungry for even two people to tackle it).

A trip to the Wensleydale Creamery is well worth the £2.50 entry; although the little museum at the beginning is a bit dated, the viewing gallery where you can see actual Wensleydale Cheese being made is very interesting with a fact-packed and cheery voice-over. Great for foodies! There's a lovely coffee shop too (and also a more formal restaurant) and a CHEESE SAMPLING ROOM where you can try as many varieties of cheese as you like before buying some to take home. A great way to spend a wet morning.

Staff are very friendly and the Mougin room is beautiful, especially the bathroom. Good WiFi, free on request, and food at Yorebridge House is delicious, with amuse bouche and excellent breakfast options. Wensleydale Heifer in West Witton has a range of menus with lunch specials, amazing fish choices and fabulous vegetarian options. Cosy log fire in lounge for pre-dinner drinks and Molton Brown products in bathrooms. Blue Lion in East Witton has also been highly recommended for its excellent menu. Nearby attractions included Aysgarth Falls and Hardraw Force waterfalls, West Burton village has falls and a cat pottery studio. Hawes for Wensleydale Creamery also sells Raydale Preserves if you don't get a chance to go to the main outlet. Lake Semer Water is worth a trip. Leyburn is an attractive market town on the way back to the A1.

This is a wonderful small hotel ideally located in the heart of Wensleydale and perfect for a short getaway-from-it-all break. Everything from the decor to the service is designed to make you feel comfortable and valued. The restaurant is fantastic – well beyond our expectations, and a real culinary pleasure, further enhanced by personal and caring service. Don't bother looking for anywhere else to while away your evenings. Lots of great walks, we particularly enjoyed the gentle four miles around Semer Water (route available from reception), Yorkshire's only natural lake, just south of Askrigg (a tiny village but also well worth a visit if only to visit Raydale Preserves). Hawes, a couple of miles down the road, has a fantastic cheese factory with an amazing range of cheeses all available to try before you buy.

This hotel is simply fantastic. The food is locally sourced from around the Dales and of a high standard. The rooms are all individually designed and some have hot tubs! Great whilst sipping champagne or easing aches and paid after a long walk in what is genuinely breath taking country side.

This is laid back country chic with out the pretence.  Its the perfect country retreat!
