Style Urban fable

Setting Leafy soi, left of centre

Although it can feel a little like a nightclub on entry, once you venture past the cast-iron door and low-lit lobby at boutique hotel Tenface you'll discover an imaginative, enjoyable place to stay. Taking its name from the 10-faced, savvy, all-seeing giant Tosakan, from the epic Ramakien story, this is a street-chic styled urban sanctuary that still allows you to relax and be yourself.

Food and drink at Tenface

  • Hotel restaurant Light and airy with whitewashed walls, natural teak floors, dark furniture and intriguing metal art work, the brasserie-like Wanara Eatery serves a casual menu of pizzas, sandwiches and pasta alongside a few popular Thai dishes. Wana means 'forest', a nod to the source of many traditional Thai cooking ingredients, here fused with Western techniques and flavours.
  • Dress code Relaxed, but remember this is the city and not a beach resort, so keep covered.
  • Top table Opt for a more discreet table by the pool.
  • Last orders Food is served at the restaurant until 11pm; the bar is open till midnight and is at its busiest from 10pm.
  • Room service An edited version of the Wanara menu is up for grabs from 6am–11pm.
  • Hotel bar Dimly lit and intimate, the ground-floor Sita Bar emulates other fashionable city watering-holes with its leather seating, house DJ and killer cocktail list. Dare to try the highly toxic, green-coloured Lovelorn Tosakan, which contains a heady mix of gin, rum, vodka, tequila, whisky, cognac, coffee liqueur, lime and rosella.

In the know

Our favourite rooms

The vast penthouse offers skyline views and enough space to spread out and feel at home (it comes with two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, dining area and balcony). Its bold, graphic colour scheme and chic black furniture are off-set by vivid yellow walls and modern Thai art. Check in for at least a week to make the most of it and don’t forget to invite friends to join in.

Packing tips
